Smoke Detector and Home
Safety Inspections

Colton Fire District offers smoke detector and home safety inspections to all homes and businesses in the district free of charge. During these inspections we will check all current smoke detectors and recommend where additional detectors might be needed. We will let you know of any other safety concerns. On the outside we will let you know how well protected your home is from wildland fires and make recommendation to make your house easier to defend. You are under no obligation to make changes, these are just suggestions to give you and your family the best possible chance of surviving a home or forest fire. Having working, well placed smoke detectors and an evacuation plan that everyone knows well will give you and your family the best possible chance of surviving a fire.
