Why Volunteer?
Many of our members say that the reason they joined the CRFD is to give back to the community. In order to best serve the Colton Rural Fire District in fulfilling this goal, our members must be dedicated, motivated and professional. As a reward for their excellent service, our members have several benefits available to them. If you feel you possess the qualities of a successful volunteer and are interested in joining the Colton Rural Fire Department, the following benefits would be available to you:

  • 24 hour access to fitness room with weights and cardio equipment
  • 24 hour access to computer facilities with wireless internet
  • Safety equipment and training provided at no cost
  • An opportunity to be part of the Colton Fire District family!

  • Types Of Membership

We have two types of membership:

    Regular
Members must be at least 18 years of age. Personnel in this class of membership must pass a background investigation and physical, as well as meet minimum participation standards each year. Regular members must complete a training academy and 1 year probationary period. Regular members are encouraged to complete their Firefighter I (F/F I) certification. We are always looking for volunteers. If this is something you may be interested come down during our weekly training drills to watch how we train and get a better idea of what is involved in the job. It's a great time to meet members of the department and ask questions. Call us to schedule a tour of the station and to talk to a member
of the department about joining us for a training session.
